Some members of the servant species hold the firm belief that felines are a strain of their own species who just happen to wear fur coats. They believe we can empathize, comprehend abstract concepts, and have feelings. I understand the word the servants use for attributing their own characteristics on to species other than their own is "anthropomorphism."

Empowering My Daughters
My job, my goal, is to raise my two daughters to be strong women, empower them, instill independence, morals, values, and never back down. To teach them to be passionate and go after what they want in life too. They can achieve anything they set their mind to. My husband has the same duties to them as me, but I feel it's a bit different being the mom to two girls than the dad. Seth is much more traditional than me, which can be a conflict in a society that is not usually traditional. Our daughters are Alina, age seven, and Catarina, age three.

Dress for the Weather, Not the Calendar
It's mid-fall down South. While everyone else North of the Mason-Dixon is racing to slip on their Barbour jackets, tweed, and the like, some of us are still experiencing temperatures in the high 80s, with plenty of humidity to boot. While traditionalists argue that at this point its far past time to have the whites, linens, seersuckers and such away in storage until next Spring, I strongly oppose the notion. Just because the calendar reads late September or October, it doesn't necessarily mean it's time to break out the fall regalia with careless aplomb. If it's still sweltering outside, these superfluous rules certainly don't apply.

I was 16 when I first realized that church deacons like 'em young. One night, I was an usher at a funeral for one of our deacons who had passed away. I went to the kitchen to take a breather for a moment. The church was packed with mourners, and having become close to the deacon and his family I was one of them but trying to comfort the others. It became a little too intense, and after reading the 23rd Psalm and almost breaking down, I thought I would hide for a moment until I regained composure.

British Breeding — A Novice Tale
It is day 168 of Tia's gestation. Tia is a Shire cross Warmblood - 50 percent Warmblood and 50 percent Shire. She is in foal to a KWPN Stallion with Dreamboy bloodlines. She is five years old and, being a Shire cross, I have taken the opportunity to put her in foal as she reaches her final stages of maturation, in the hopes of reducing the risk of injury or impacting her heavy frame.
