Crossroads. Runner-Up in The Runaway Train Challenge.
I wake to the purring engine of a train. The seat I’m occupying is one beside a window. Ivory clouds press against the glass, obscuring my view of the world beyond. Grogginess permeates my mind, blurs my ability to grasp why I am on a train and where said train could possibly be going.

Crazy Mr. Gould
A homeless man bumped into me today at the bank. I found it ironic to see that even a penniless man needs a bank account. Must have been a good day panhandling, I thought. I couldn’t help but breathe through my mouth and I could hear the woman behind me follow suit.

A Purposeful Life
In a small town, there are three main types of people that live around. One would be the kind of person who loves nature and loves animals and has an art appreciation. Another would be the type of person who would work hard at everything they did and was determined to achieve their dreams. And finally, there is another type of person that was born into this world and never really had any expectations for what to do with their life.
