Ice agents patrol Streets of Minneapolis Citizens uneased
lonely friday night everyone is coupled up on bumble swiping
Here’s today’s lesson: lights off, hide, and stay silent active shooter drill
metamorphosis wings drying, no one watching today, unugly
in front of mirror crow’s feet and many laugh lines stranger’s reflection
I do not kill the quiet ones, those patient architects of air, spinning silk from unseen places, lacing corners with their care.
What if she had been raised by sunlight, by the gentle pull of dreams— not the sharpness of slammed doors, not the names that split her seams?
