In Deepest Manchester
The image is taken from Vocalzone Introduction Around 1977 I was in a band called The Bok and we touted our demos to various record companies but the only ones who took any notice were Rabid Records. You can hear the demos below, but this is essentially about the general "Madchester" phenomenon, Factory Records, Tony Wilson, The Hacienda and other probably unrelated stuff.

Be Body Positive
Introduction As a child, I was fat, although I didn't realise it until I started getting called names at school. My mum always gave me lots to eat, but I still played football, went on mentally long walks and rode my bike to school (a couple of miles), so it's not like I was lazy though I did read a lot. My brother did the same and was thin as a rake, so go figure that.

A Combination Of The Two
Introduction This is going to reference two pieces, one from Vocal Resources about Filters and one of mine about building a simple Vocal Network. At the end of this piece I will link the two stories and all the people I am aware of who have joined in with the Vocal Network that I suggested. I actually thought that Vocal would add it as a resource as they did comment favourably about it and it does bring Vocal members a little closer together, but we shall see if it ever gets picked up by Vocal.

The Stripe
Introduction Just over a year ago my dad came up to visit us and his great-granddaughter Alexis Leia. We were going out for a meal and he fell and managed to shatter his knee. Below is a picture of him, me and Alexis-Leia while waiting for the ambulance.

Valentines Day Is Over
Introduction This is just a general thing about how Valentine’s Day fifty years ago was so much creepier than the current corporate “romance” fest that it has become today. I am not been curmudgeonly about this but if you go into a card shop there are cards for loads of made-up occasions, one for every family member and lots more as well as genuine occasions like birthdays, religious occasions and such. Cards are nice to receive but the plethora we have now is ridiculous and often I just get a blank card for an occasion, although someone was recently shocked that I actually bought, wrote and hand-delivered a card to a close friend.
