The birds sang louder than ever before
Water to drink worms to eat

The birds sang louder than ever before
The Birdssang louder than before
Rain fell steady, soaking the floor
Worms surfaced, wriggling by the score
Life’s small wonders, I adore
Puddles formed in every street
Children’s laughter light and sweet
Feet splash in water, soft and cold
Moments simple, bright and bold
Grey clouds hang but do not weigh
Nature’s music fills the day
Fresh earth scents rise from the ground
Peace and joy are all around
The world breathes slow, refreshed and new
Under skies of shifting hue
No need for sun to make me smile
Rain and song make life worthwhile

Gorgeous work Marie! ☺️
Delightful I loved this!
I live in rainy Pacific Northwest. We love the sunny summer days but when it gets overly hot (mid 80s) for too many days, we all breathe a sigh of relief for a day of rain that freshens the earth and air!! Lovely poem.
