That Darned Squeak

What Comes Back

I had it all.

A comfy outdoor chair,

My current read,

A cool drink.

I felt the warmth of the spring sun caressing my skin.

A cool breeze softened the heat.

I was ready to spend the early afternoon

To myself

In blissful peace.

Then

it

began.

The metal gate squeaked.

A high-pitched sound one cannot ignore.

I held my breath, hoping it would stop.

Squeak!

Not again.

I sighed, marked my place, and went to the garage.

Certainly, some spray would do the trick.

Now where did I put that stuff?

Several boxes later,

I was finally armed.

I was liberal.

Sighing, I assumed my position and resumed my reading.

Ah, the silence!

And then...

SQUEAK!

No!

Back to the garage.

Ty-wraps should keep it steady.

Several more boxes and I was armed yet again.

Yes, a job well done.

Now where was I?

Ah, perfect.

SQUEAK!

NOOOOO!

I'm going inside to the couch.

Oh I feel irritated just reading about the squeak! Fun take on the challenge!

That would have driven me nuts, too, Julie. Onward to a comfy couch, I suppose, but perhaps you'll get that ol' squeak fixed. 😊
