Down the rabbit hole
The thoughts may be pacing
The past woes had taken a toll

A place that is unequivocally strange
Decide to parade through the laughs
You need to feel the change

Craning for something more
The reality you'd known for all time
Realizing after just a short tour
You begin to miss what you'd left behind

Pulling yourself from the dream
It's now that your eyes flutter & stir
Realize the grass isn't always so green
Tick tock, she's home, the hour is now for her

That is How the Cookie Crumbles
As I clutched my gingerbread house with both hands, I realized that I didn't take into account the weight of my creation for my short walk home. After a fun night of Christmas decorating at my friend's house, I was more tired than I realized and ready to get home. My eyes scanned over PlieningerstraΓe, the road leading to my building in Frankfurt, Germany. I noticed the guard letting a car pass through the gate as I trudged on to the last apartment in our complex.

Thirty (one) and Neither Flirty nor Thriving.
I'm thirty-one and orbiting the same few mistakes like they're landmarks. London is already awake before I am (or before I've slept) - sirens somewhere far enough to ignore, buses sighing at stops, people moving with purpose I can't quite borrow. I lie there for a bit, tasting last night at the back of my throat, trying to remember if I meant to drink that much or if it just...happened again.
