Storms

Crisp air,

heavy air,

coming with it the scent of rain.

Just as the year before.

Gear is ready, supplies (tents, medical, tools, food, etc.)

Paperwork all packed (birth certificate, insurance, social, etc.)

Maybe there will be a need to leave.

Just as the year before.

Is the car full of gas?

Must find the cheapest,

now it is more.

It was much lower the year before.

The storms have come,

with its crisp air, heavy air,

the scent of rain everywhere.

As in the year before, no need to leave.

Do we have enough?

Should we go get more?

Should we use the gas?

Can we afford what we think we need?

We could the year before, now it's a question?

Now in the air, there is uncertainty,

bringing with it a heavy feeling, not from the storm,

no, it does not come from the storm.

Not like it did the year before.
