I Created These 4 Dynamite Book Covers with No Trouble at All

Do you know the best motivation for finishing your book manuscript?

If you're a writer who wants to know what the best motivation for finishing your book manuscript is, give me a moment to share what works really well for me. The tip I'm about to share, is directly related to the four dynamite book covers that I recently had fun designing and creating, without any trouble at all.

After you read the story and see what I have to say about getting an extra dose of motivation, feel free to leave a comment and indicate whether you agree or disagree. I'd love to hear people's views on this, plus it might even help other writers who happen to read this story too.

I'm no stranger to self publishing, and over the past decade and a half, I've authored at least a dozen or so books, via multiple pen names.

But recently, I discovered something interesting; something I never even considered until this very year.

More motivation and drive when writing your book

When I first started self publishing ebooks several ions ago, I always withheld making any book cover decisions for my completed manuscripts, until the very end of the process.

Now, however, as I look back in hindsight, if I had done things differently, I might have been able to shave off some of the "several months" that it normally took me to finish a first book draft.

What I now believe might have helped me speed up the process, would have been an extra dose of motivation, to help push and drive me a lot harder.

But not just any kind of motivation.

I'm talking about getting the kind of super charged motivation that comes from seeing a great image of your book cover, long before the book is even finished.

Yes - you read that right.

I published four different ebooks in the past two months, and each time, I decided to create a book cover early in the writing phase.

There was no particular reason that I knew of - it was just a fluke (four times).

Even though there was no real strategy behind me doing this, I couldn't help but notice I had a lot more motivation and drive during the two months I spent writing and publishing the books.

It wasn't long before I put two and two together. I realized the extra dose of motivation always came after I had taken a little time to stop and figure out the design style for the book.

Once I did that, I crafted a carefully worded prompt for Chatgpt, and within minutes, the image I cleverly designed was generated by the AI tool.

Here are the four book covers for my newly released books on Amazon:

Whenever I bothered to create my book cover first, before spending time on the interior of the book, I felt flashes of excitement. It felt good, having the awesome looking book cover available so I could glance at my handiwork while still working on the manuscript.

I can only assume that having these motivating visuals within eyesight must have made all the difference in the world. My motivation level was so high, I barely allowed any time to pass before moving on to the next project.

By creating the covers first, the results of my hard work and smart thinking, were these four newly released publications:

How to Call it Quits and Finally Move On [Relationship book]

What to Do About Mom and Dad [Assisted Living resource guide]

Open Wide: A Firsthand Account of Going from Full Extractions to Full Dentures [Dental Patient resource guide]

Me and AI (A Quick, Simple and Easy Chatgpt Graphics Creator Guide)

In case you haven't figured it out yet, the Me and AI book is a resource that was inspired by all the fun I had, discovering exactly how to manipulate the Chatgpt image creation feature correctly.

I'm convinced that I had a stronger sense of determination to finish each of my book projects, once I discovered how to coach an AI into designing and generating some outstanding images.

Naturally, I was eager to share my newfound knowledge with other writers and content creators just like me. So I wrote and published Me and AI.

If you're a budding author, still working on a manuscript you can't seem to get finished, maybe what you need is to create an attractive book cover for a big dose of extra motivation.

Final Thoughts

It makes perfect sense for writers to look into the advantage of using Chatgpt, when you stop and consider the endless possibilities and many uses for great looking images.

There are plenty of busy writers who publish at least one project a month. This includes:

  • Short read books
  • Poetry anthologies
  • Collections of stories
  • Novellas
  • Handbooks and guides
  • Novels

Even if you're one of these prolific writers and you have no problem with motivation, you can't deny the time saving hours and attractive results that come from using Chatgpt, one of the most popular AI resource tools online.

If you'd like to learn more about it, you can visit the Amazon marketplace and get a copy of Me and AI (A Quick, Simple and Easy Chatgpt Graphics Creator Guide).

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

Now for the question of whether or not it's a good idea to create your book cover early before your book is complete. Some authors oppose this idea, mainly because it's not uncommon for whatever you're writing to take on a life of its' own.

When this happens, changes in your thought process may occur, resulting in something much more different in the end, then you originally planned in the beginning.

For this reason some writers may not feel like its practical to lock down the book cover (or even the actual title) while the book is still a work in progress.
