I felt a strong presence surrounding me and eyes watching me from afar. A secret connection. An unbreakable bond. A treasure only one can unfold.
Although your presence lingers in the crowd, I still can’t identify the soul that matches mine. A thousand faces, a thousand smiles. Whose face carries the soul that is meant for me?
My soul is uneasy; my thoughts are running wild. Where is the soul who gave me a new view of life?
Destiny is staring me in the face, but my soul is still bleeding and pleading for a new beginning.
My soul is filled with darkness, sorrow, and pain. The void is the obstacle that stands in my way. I feel your love surrounding me, but I just can’t break free from the clouds hanging over me.
Thunder struck my soul and left it dead and cold. Now love is just an empty word, like a legend that’s been told.
Suddenly a voice echoed through the wind and said, “This is it, the moment you’ve been waiting for. Your soul mate is in the crowd—find him. Embrace your chance now that you’ve found him.”
I pushed through the crowd in a hurry, searching hundreds of souls and faces, and thought, “Will I ever find him?”
A tall, handsome man came from behind me and said, “Hi, miss, you dropped your scarf,” and he smiled slightly.
I replied, “Hi, thank you,” feeling hopeful that he might be my soul mate. But then he said as he was leaving, “My wife is waiting for me. I have to get back to her.”
I nodded my head, he smiled, and he left. He was just a kind, handsome stranger. I walked through the crowd thinking, “How will I ever find him?”
There were many men in this crowded mall. Despite the challenge of finding my soul mate, I pushed through the crowd and continued to look. An hour had passed, and I had given up on my search. I felt tired of walking through the mall, searching for him. I sat down at a coffee shop just to rest and ordered a cup of coffee and a slice of chocolate cake. I was starving, and I looked forward to going home to take a long bath and relax—to watch a movie and take my mind off the fact that I had missed my soul mate in the crowd. I thought I’d probably never find him again by chance.
A waiter approached me and said, “Hi miss, can I take your order?”
I replied, “Yes, you may.” I ordered the coffee and cake.
A minute later he returned with my order and handed me a note. “A gentleman gave me this note and told me to make sure you get it. He said he knew you—an old friend, I assume. He mentioned he was late for a work meeting and rushed off. He came to the coffee shop, had a cup of coffee, and asked me to give you this note,” the waiter said.
I was surprised. I didn’t have many words for the waiter except, “Thank you, I appreciate it.”
When he left, I opened the note and read: “Hi. I saw you in the crowd at the mall and had a sudden feeling that I know you from somewhere. You seem familiar, as if our souls have met. I’d like to see you. Can you meet me at the same mall at the coffee shop at one o’clock tomorrow afternoon? I hope to see you there.” I felt shocked and relieved all at once, thinking, “My soul mate found me.” I was happy and excited to finally meet the one I had dreamed about for years.
The next day I went to the mall thirty minutes early just to compose myself. He appeared, standing in front of me—a very attractive man in a suit with a suitcase, as if he had been traveling. He looked at me and said, “Hi, I’m Justin, the man who left you the note with the waiter.”
He pulled out a chair and sat down with me.
I said, “Hi Justin, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Jessica Bell. In the note you said I seemed familiar, but I don’t think I’ve ever met you before.”
Justin replied, “Yes, I thought about it last night. I realized I’ve never met you personally, but I recognize you spiritually. Your soul feels familiar. I don’t know if I’m making sense.”
I replied, “You are. I feel the same way. When I saw you, I sensed something familiar about your soul.”
We both smiled. He took my hand and said, “I’m leaving for a business trip for two weeks, but when I get back, I want to take you on a date. Jessica, will you go on a date with me?”
I replied, “I’d love to.” We exchanged numbers.
“I’d like to get to know you, Miss Jessica,” he said. “I’ll call you when I arrive at my hotel so we can talk. I have to go now—it was a pleasure meeting you.”
He kissed my hand. I smiled, and he left. I was happy—it was a dream come true.
Two weeks later he returned. We spent Saturday morning together, and he made me breakfast. We continued seeing each other, went on many dates for a month, and eventually started a relationship. He truly was my soul mate—we were a match made in heaven.
A year later we got married, and two years after that, we had our first child. We were happily married, and we fell more in love every day. I found what I was looking for. I like to believe God brought him into my life. He gave me the greatest gift of all—love.
