---
The bridge brightened into morning cycle.
The soft gold glow rose along the ceiling panels, warming the metal walls of the flagship’s bridge. Jaga stood at the captain’s chair, reviewing the night’s reports. Panthro sat at his own station beside him, arms folded, his rounded panther‑line ears angled forward.
Panthro cleared his throat. “You should know… the other ships have been trying to get in touch with you.”
Jaga’s ears tilted. “About what?”
Panthro shrugged. “Don’t know. I didn’t answer. I was busy. And…”
He grimaced. “I don’t like dealing with comms.”
Jaga gave him a look — the kind that said I know you hate it, but you should have checked.
Panthro sighed. “Yeah. I know.”
“Anything else?” Jaga asked.
Panthro rubbed the back of his neck. “Some of the people aboard this ship are already asking about breakfast.”
Jaga exhaled. “Of course they are.”
He stepped toward the communications console. “Let’s see what these ships wanted.”
---
Rumors in the Dark
Jaga took his seat at the captain’s station and accessed the messages — work normally handled at the communications station. He scrolled through the backlog. His medium‑rounded jaguar‑line ears angled back slightly — concern.
Panthro noticed the shift. “What’s wrong, Jaga?”
Jaga’s jaw tightened. “Some ships have figured out the king is not aboard the flagship. They’re afraid we’re hiding something.”
“It’ll spread fast,” Panthro said.
“It already has,” Jaga replied.

Breakfast on the Bridge
The doors opened, and Cheetara entered with Snarf and the children — Lion‑O, Leah, WilyKit, and WilyKat — each carrying a tray of breakfast.
“Eat here,” she said softly. “Quietly.”
They settled into the four rows of passenger seats at the back of the bridge, the soft clink of utensils filling the air.
Snarf took his place at the communications station, already sorting messages and catching up on the discussions about the king and the ships’ questions addressed to Jaga.
Jaga glanced at Panthro. “We should get breakfast as well.”
Panthro nodded. “Before the next crisis hits.”
They stepped off the bridge.
---
The Tiger Arrives
The doors slid open again.
Tygra entered.
He carried a small bowl of cereal — untouched — but his posture was rigid, his tall tiger‑line ears angled back, his eyes cold and shadowed. The fracture from the night still clung to him like a second skin.
Cheetara greeted him gently. “Morning, Tygra.”
He didn’t answer.
He moved to the systems console and sat down, shoulders locked, jaw tight. Cheetara’s ears dipped — she could feel the wrongness in him, sharp and quiet. She sensed sorrow and anger beneath his stillness and wondered whether she should say something… or bring it to Jaga’s attention.
Lion‑O watched him, uncertain.
Leah whispered, “He looks sad.”
Lion‑O nodded.

Jaga and Panthro Return
The doors opened again. Jaga and Panthro returned with their breakfasts, settling into their stations.
Jaga lifted his tray, ready to eat—
And the bridge doors slid open once more.
---
The Confrontation
Baron Tass and Grubber stepped inside.
Tass carried himself with stiff, noble posture — compact, refined, every gesture deliberate. Grubber’s tall, rugged frame filled the doorway, his coarse fur and weathered features giving him the presence of an old knight who had seen too much. His ears angled back in irritation.
“Captain!” Tass called out, hands already gesturing as he spoke, voice full of indignation. “The civilians are hungry. We’ve been waiting, and people are beginning to wonder what the plan is, and—”
Jaga set down his tray. “We are understaffed. We will organize shortly.”
Tass opened his mouth to argue—
But Tygra stood.
Slowly.
Deliberately.
His eyes locked on Tass with a cold, predatory focus that made the air tighten. His claws flexed once against the console.
Grubber saw it first.
He placed a firm hand on Tass’s shoulder — a silent warning.
Tass paused. He looked around, reading the room, reading Tygra, reading the danger. Then he smoothed his expression, adjusted his posture, and offered a polite, practiced smile.
“We’ll wait,” he said lightly.
They left.
The doors closed behind them.

Orders and Tension
Jaga exhaled. “Cheetara,” he said, “take WilyKat and WilyKit and help in the kitchen. Keep order.”
Cheetara nodded. “Of course.”
Lion‑O stood. “Should Leah and I help too?”
Jaga shook his head. “No. I need you here, Lion‑O. And Leah may stay as well. She’s just getting adjusted to us and the ship.”
Leah wasn’t surprised — but she was relieved.
Jaga turned to Panthro. “Did you find any competent helpers among the Thunderans we rescued?”
Panthro nodded. “Torr. Strong. Level‑headed. His family too.”
“Good,” Jaga said. “We’ll need them. Have them help Cheetara and the kittens.”
Cheetara gathered the twins. “Come on. Let’s go.”
WilyKit hopped off her seat. “We’ll keep things moving!”
WilyKat saluted dramatically. “Order and discipline!”
Cheetara smiled faintly. “Something like that.”
They left the bridge.

Preparing the Broadcast
Jaga turned to Snarf. “Open channels.”
Snarf slid into the communications station, paws moving quickly. “On it.”
Screens flickered to life — not yet with faces, but with the quiet hum of connection.
Jaga stood tall.
Lion‑O stepped beside him.
Tygra remained at his console, silent, eyes shadowed.
Jaga breathed once.
It was time to speak to a scattered people.

Ceremonial Closing Seal
Thus the remnant stirred beneath the morning light — rumors rising, tempers fraying, and the ThunderCats gathering their strength. And in the quiet between orders and duty, a wounded tiger carried his fracture like a shadow, unseen by most… but felt by all.
