By Rasma RaistersPublished about 3 hours ago 3 min read

The American rock band the Grass Roots was at the top between 1965 and 1975. The band was the creation of Lou Adler and the songwriting duo of P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri. During their musical career they had two gold albums and two gold singles and have sold more than 20 million records worldwide. Band member Rob Grill passed away in 2011. Former musicians who have been with the Grass Roots still go on tours and take part in oldies shows all over the world.

“(I’d) Wait a Million Years," aka “Wait a Million Years," was recorded by the band in 1969 and became a hit single. It was the first of three singles released from their album Leaving It All Behind. Love Is What You Make It” was released on the 1973 album Alotta’ Mileage.

Midnight Confessions” is a song that was written by Lou T. Josie and was originally performed by the Ever-Green Blues. Later, the Grass Roots made it famous with their version in 1968. The song became their biggest charting hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the Top 5 in both the US and Canadian pop singles charts.

The Runaway” is a song that is featured on the 1972 album Move Along. This became the last top 40 hit for the band.

Sooner or Later" is a 1971 song which became a hit for the Grass Roots. It is featured on their compilation album Their 16 Greatest Hits. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the band’s third and last top ten hit.

Temptation Eyes” is a hit song recorded by the Grass Roots in 1970. It is featured on their compilation album More Golden Grass. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the band’s single of greatest longevity.

Two Divided by Love” is a hit song from 1971. It was the first single released from the album Move Along. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Where Were You When I Needed You” is a song recorded in 1966 and featured on the band’s debut album. Some of this album features members of a San Francisco band that became the first Grass Roots. The members who recorded are vocalist Willie Fulton and drummer Joel Larson. The A- and B-side singles released are "Mr. Jones (Ballad Of A Thin Man)," "You're a Lonely Girl," "Where Were You When I Needed You," "(These Are) Bad Times," "Only When You're Lonely," "This Is What I Was Made For," "Tip of My Tongue," and "Look Out Girl."
